About the Role: We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist (f/m/d) – Lean Manufacturing, to join our Performance Solutions Division (PSD) team. This is a huge opportunity to make an impact within our organization. 

In this role, you will deploy Performance Solutions Division’s (PSD) global production system, develop Associate Lean capability and drive manufacturing performance improvements across our manufacturing facility in Pleinfeld, Germany.  

This role requires strong project leadership and problem-solving skills, coupled with a practical ‘can-do’ approach focused on both capability building and delivery of positive business outcomes.  

This position will be located at our facility in Pleinfeld, Bavaria, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.  

 

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coach the process for how lean systems and tools can develop the capability of all associates to improve results on critical manufacturing metrics, supply chain and customer brand measures aligned with value 
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Leadership to identify, coach and establish PSD’s Lean principles and capabilities across our manufacturing associate population 
  • Conduct production system assessments in plants to help determine opportunities for improvement in PSD’s Lean principles and systems 
  • Partner with Manufacturing Execution and Continuous Improvement (CI) Leadership to formulate and execute annual plans for Lean transformation resulting in productivity performance in Pleinfeld Manufacturing plants 
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Manufacturing Lean Specialists  
  • Build strong relationships with Manufacturing and Supply Chain Leadership, and develop a deep understanding of their needs that will inform current and future Lean roadmaps 
  • Coach leaders and manufacturing associates to establish the desired process-improvement behaviors in our manufacturing operations 
  • Ensure appropriate plant metrics in place to monitor progress and prioritize future work  
  • Own, develop and maintain training material for Pleinfeld as part of PSD’s global CI training framework 
  • Continuously expand knowledge of Lean tools and benchmark best practices and support alignment of PSD’s production system with the Enterprise Gore Performance Standard framework 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years operational or manufacturing experience, preferably in a leadership role 

  • Senior experience in developing and implementing Continuous Improvement, Lean, and/or Six-Sigma initiatives in a manufacturing environment 

  • Demonstrated application of Lean systems and tools to drive manufacturing improvements 

  • Lean or Lean Six Sigma Certification (AME Lean Bronze or higher, ASQ Black Belt or equivalent) 

  • Experience in developing content, teaching, and coaching Lean principles 

  • Practical experience in Problem Solving with manufacturing teams 

  • Experience in application of Scrum to accelerate project execution 

  • Strong analysis, visual thinking and communication skills 

  • Fluency in German & English are essential to fulfill the role 

  • We are looking for a candidate, who is adaptable, resourceful, and able to move initiatives forward and able to travel up to 10%
